CUT – CalArts Unlicensed Typography
Typography Club, 2018–2019
In 2018, together with Lyla Zhou, I started CUT, an informal after-hours club dedicated to making and exploring letterforms.
With an emphasis on physical and analog process, a series of letters were made over the course of the Spring 2019 semester at CalArts. The goal was to find new, abstracted representations of known letterforms, devoid of cultural and historical context.
All work was summarized in the form of a catalogue, as well as on handprinted earrings, patches, and stickers. These were sold at CalArts Print Fair 2019.
The club was finalized in May 2019, with a talk on typography held by Ed Fella.

Below are my contributions, excerpts of the catalogue, and a selection of the weekly flyers.
